When C21 announced in October we planned to bring our market-leading ‘Content’ franchise to Budapest, it was to create a new kind of event designed to stimulate business across Central and Eastern Europe, in addition to connecting the international programming community with local buyers.

Regional players told us they wanted to act local, but think global, and we felt well positioned to meet this need, delivering a progressive event connected to our market-leading publishing products and digital screenings platform.

With NATPE in Chapter 11, we began planning an event that would take the old Budapest model to the next level.

Content Budapest will facilitate business both internationally and across CEE, bringing the leading regional buyers, commissioners and producers together to not only to connect them with the global business, but also with each other.

And like all C21 events, from Content Americas, Content LA and Content Canada; to the multi award-winning Content London, it will do that in the most progressive way.

More than 500 buyers are being invited to Content Budapest, alongside another 200 commissioners and senior executives from channels, platforms and production companies across the region.

C21 has retained the full team responsible for delivering previous Budapest markets, adding its expertise in programming and event organisation.

We have also contracted MRM, the team behind Kyiv Media Week, to consult on the event, helping to deliver an unrivalled conference programme around the CEE100, a new initiative to celebrate the 100 executives, channels, platforms and producers defining the future of content across Central & Easter Europe. This will be launched at Content Budapest.

C21 has also raised the bar on the venue, situating Content Budapest at the Five Star Kempinski hotel between June 27-29. This hotel is without equal in the city, with superb market floor, meeting rooms and screenings suites. It also hosts a variety of bars and restaurants, including Nobu. The price for stay and exhibition has been kept low.

More than 100 buyers and key commissioning executives have also been provided with complimentary hotel rooms for three nights and Content Budapest will see the return of the legendary Boat Party, with all delegates invited.

Our commitment, team, experience and backing is designed to take CEE markets to the next level.

Content Budapest is being supported by the top buyers across Central and Eastern Europe, with more than 500 invited and scores announced.
Content Budapest is working with MRM – the force behind Kyiv Media Week – to launch the CEE100 at the event. This will bring 100 key commissioners and senior execs into the mix.
C21’s programming team will organise the conference, working with MRM to ensure the depth of local input. This is the team that delivers Content London, Content LA and Content Americas among others.
Content Budapest will host The Boat Party, open to all delegates at the event. This was a cornerstone of previous Budapest markets and its return will be welcomed by all, providing great networking opportunity.
The Content Budapest Pitch will use C21’s tried-and-tested format to showcase the best new programming from Central & Eastern Europe to connect it with international partners, with a $20K prize.
C21 will host The Content Budapest Digital Screening during the market, promoting featured programming from all participating companies to delegates and extending that to 200,000 executives worldwide.
The My Content Budapest digital networking platform will connect all delegates and allow them to share project ideas. My Content London saw 11,000 messages exchanged across the event.
The team that has delivered the Budapest market for the past decade is running Content Budapest, with additional support from C21’s events and programming team and MRM, to ensure the best experience.
